“My goal when people look at my photos is for them to feel the same way they do when they want to read a line in a poem twice.”

My mom always said that one day I would “find my North Star.” In 2019 I thru hiked the 2,193-mile Appalachian Trail southbound from Maine to Georgia. It was a life altering experience and I ended up “finding my North Star” by pointing my compass south.

Wanting to capture as much as I could on the Appalachian Trail, I carried a DSLR camera for the entire thru hike and fell in love with photography. Once I got home, I invested in a mirrorless camera and the passion only grew.

Although landscape photography is my first love, I quickly grew passionate about capturing “people moments” as well. From the laughter of a child to tears on a wedding day to the hustle and bustle of a busy city street: I wanted to capture it all.

There are 3 stars in the southern hemisphere that point to the “southern cross” constellation which points to the south pole, Alpha Centauri is the brightest of the 3. Naming this venture after that star only made sense to me. Afterall, I found my north star by facing south.
